Hi All, I've got my Tivo working and everything is good other than pulling files from Tivo to watch on my Vista Computer ... dag it!!!
Can anyone else watch Tivo programs on their Vista computers?

I can't get my media access key into the Tivo desktop software. I get SharingKeyLib error: 5.
I can't see the Tivo programs from my Vista machine and Tivo can't see the Vista computer either.
I've tried uninstalling the Tivo softare and reinstalling with the same result.

Hey Tim, Right click the tivo deskicon and then properties.... check the box that say run as admin..... Then you can put the key in.

Hey Tim, I solved the Tivo Problem.... In another post I asked about the 4 color sheild.... the perosn told me to go into the control panel and turn if off I I wanted to... I did and now I have all funcution on my tivo.... Yeah....
Turn off UAC .... That shield represents that the program, Control Panel item, or setting is under the control of User Account Control, or UAC for short.

Hey Op,
Thanks, that worked to let me put the key in. However, the only thing I can do is look at the Tivo's from the computer to see what is recorded on them. It lets me click on a program and click on transfer but nothing acutally happens. I click on the button to check the transfer status and it says no recordings are queued for transfer.
I also can see the Vista computer on the Tivo's but when I try to access music or photos, it hangs with an error and then Tivo desktop on the Vista machine terminates. I've even tried running it in compatibility mode. No luck.
Surely there are more Tivo users out there with problems but I don't find much discussion about it. MS must really want us to use Media Extenders.

Hey Op,
YDM. Now I can transfer programs to my Vista machine from Tivo.
Still can't go the other way, though. The computer doesn't show up in the Now Playing list on the Tivo and still get the same error when trying to access music or photos from the computer to the Tivo.

Well, hmph. Now they all started working properly today. Go figure. I changed the UAC yesterday and restarted everything but it didn't work. Today, it all works. I suppose hating computers is part of the fun.
